Northern Pulp will stay under creditor protection, taxpayers may end up paying for a lawsuit against themselves and underfunded pensions don’t have to be topped up. That's the result of a ruling on Friday by British Columbia Supreme Court Justice Shelley Fitzpatrick on Northern Pulp’s application to extend creditor protection until at least April 22, 2022.
